Stamp Duty? What is It?
A one time Stamp Duty is payable on most property transactions (it is calculated on the sale price of the property (but minus cost of furnishings and fixtures where when they are inlcuded in the sale price).
Stamp Duty is due to the government within 30 days of completion of the sales transaction

Stamp Duty Reduction!
The Government of Turks and Caicos Islands has just
announced a reduction in stamp duty from April 1, to June 30, 2008. 
Stamp duty is a one-time tax on real estate that is due to the government each time property changes hands.
Purchasers up until now have paid 9.75% on property but now  for this limited period of time the amount is being reduced to just 6%.* 
* Subject to the formalization of government amendments.
