West Caicos is a 5,500 acre island
where only 12% of the land mass is being developed. At the present
time it is on hold until new financing can be put in place as
a downturn in the economy in the United States caused a financial
institution to pull out. The master plan includes a full
service marina with boats slips, beachfront properties, and three
residential development areas called Logwood Beach, Sunrise Beach
and Due West Settlement. The airport here will be increased to
a 6,000-foot runway. Harbor Town will be designed as an
18th Century British Colonial style waterfront village.
This will have a commercial area, dock master’s office,
charter services, small stores, restaurants and much more.
West Caicos is a 15-minute boat ride from Providenciales and will
have a customs and immigration area for entry.
